Enrol

Fernridge School has an enrolment scheme (a school zone) to help manage the number of students.

All students who live within the home zone described below shall be eligible to enrol at the school. (All numbers are inclusive).

The scheme runs along the railway lines from Akura Road to West Bush Road. The scheme then runs North west along West Bush Road (all addresses are in zone). Addresses 1 – 225 odd and 72 – 146 even Ngaumutawa Road are in zone. Addresses on Donalds Road, Boundary Road and Upper Manaia Road are not in zone.

The scheme then runs along the Waingawa River. Addresses on Skeets Road, Totara Park Drive are in zone. All addresses on Upper Plain and streets off it are in zone. Addresses on Upper Waingawa Road, Fallon Settlement Road, Black Creek Road are in zone. Norfolk Road and Blakes Road are NOT in zone.

The scheme then runs across to Matahiwi Road all addresses are in zone. Addresses on Te Hau Road and Cootes Road are in zone. The scheme continues along Matahiwi Road and then continues onto Akura Road. Addresses on Paierau Road are NOT in zone.

The zone continues along Akura Road to where it intersects with the railway lines. All addresses on Akura Road are in zone. Lincoln Road is NOT in zone.

Each year, applications for enrolment in the following year from in-zone students will be sought by a date that will be published by public notice in a medium appropriate to the area served by the school. This will enable the board to assess the number of places that can be made available to students who live outside the home zone.

Where a property has two or more entrances on different streets, or where the actual address of a property is in dispute, only the rateable address as recognised by the local City Council will be considered to determine if the property is in or out of zone.
